Business Hours
Define when your team is available and configure after-hours behavior.
Overview
Business Hours define when your team is available to handle customer conversations. Outside of these hours, AethenoxAI can automatically adjust its behavior — sending auto-replies, routing to AI agents, or queuing messages for the next business day. This sets clear expectations with customers and ensures no message falls through the cracks.
Setting Hours
1
Go to Automation → Business Hours
Click "Automation" in the sidebar, then select "Business Hours" from the submenu.
2
Toggle days on or off
Enable or disable each day of the week. Disabled days are treated as outside business hours for the entire day.
3
Set start and end times
For each enabled day, set the opening and closing times. You can set different hours for different days (e.g., shorter hours on Saturdays).
4
Select your timezone
Choose the timezone that matches your business location. All business hour calculations are based on this timezone.
5
Save your schedule
Click "Save" to apply the schedule. Changes take effect immediately.
Info
If your team operates across multiple timezones, set business hours to cover the widest window or create separate routing rules per region.
After-Hours Behavior
Configure what happens when a customer messages outside of business hours:
1
Auto-reply
Send an automatic message letting the customer know your team is currently offline and when they can expect a response (e.g., "We're currently closed. Our team will reply when we reopen at 9:00 AM.").
2
Route to AI agent
Hand the conversation to an AI agent so the customer can still get help from your knowledge base outside business hours.
3
Queue for next business day
Hold the message in a queue and surface it to your team at the start of the next business day. The customer receives no immediate reply, but the message is not lost.
Tip
Combining auto-reply with AI routing gives the best customer experience: the customer knows your team is away, but still gets immediate help from the AI agent.
Holiday Schedule
Override your regular business hours for holidays and special closures.
1
Add a holiday
Click "Add Holiday" and select the date. Give it a name (e.g., "New Year's Day") for easy reference.
2
Set holiday behavior
Choose whether the holiday follows your after-hours behavior settings or has custom behavior (e.g., a holiday-specific auto-reply message).
3
Manage recurring holidays
Toggle "Repeat annually" for holidays that occur every year. One-time holidays are automatically removed after the date passes.
