Connect WhatsApp

Link your WhatsApp Business Account to AethenoxAI so you can start receiving and sending messages.

Prerequisites

  • A Meta Business Account (create one at business.facebook.com if you do not have one)
  • A verified WhatsApp Business phone number
  • Admin access to your Meta Business Account
Warning
Your phone number must not be actively registered on the regular WhatsApp app. You will need to deregister it first if it is.

Connect via Meta OAuth

Go to WhatsApp → Channels
In the dashboard sidebar, click "WhatsApp" then select "Channels" from the submenu.

Click "Connect New Channel"
Click the "Connect New Channel" button at the top-right of the Channels page.

Authenticate with Meta
You will be redirected to Meta's OAuth flow. Sign in with your Meta Business Account and grant AethenoxAI the required permissions.

AethenoxAI requests permission to manage your WhatsApp Business messages, templates, and phone numbers. These permissions are required for the platform to function.

Select Your Business Account

Choose your WhatsApp Business Account
After authenticating, you will see a list of WhatsApp Business Accounts linked to your Meta account. Select the one you want to connect.

Select a phone number
Choose the phone number you want to use for sending and receiving messages through AethenoxAI.

Confirm and connect
Review your selection and click "Connect". AethenoxAI will register the webhook and start receiving messages for this number.

Verify Connection

After connecting, your channel will appear on the Channels page with a green "Active" status. You can verify the connection by:

Send a test message
Go to WhatsApp → Inbox and try sending a message to a contact. If the message is delivered, your connection is working.

If you encounter issues, check the WhatsApp → Debug Log page to see incoming webhook events and troubleshoot connectivity.
